Fajr Festival unveils docs lineup

Selection board of the 35th Fajr Film Festival has named 11 Iranian documentaries to compete this year.

The selection board, comprised of Habib Ahmadzadeh, Mohammad Tahaminejad, Farshad Fereshteh-Hekmat, Loqman Khaledi, and Sam Kalantari, released the documentary lineup on January 7.

‘Zero to Stage’ by Sahar Mosayyebi, ‘Light Blue’ by Arash Lahouti, ‘Advantage’ by Mohammad Kart, ‘Combat Feast’ by Seyyed-Vahid Hosseini and ‘Vice President’ by Seyyed-Mohammadreza Hashemian are among the selected documentaries.

The lineup also includes ‘Hidden’ by Farahnaz Sharifi, ‘Super Marathon’ by Saeed Keshavarz, ‘Monopoly Heirs’ by Mohammad-Ali Shabani, ‘The Accused of District 20’ by Hessam Eslami, ‘Slowness’ by Yasser Khayyer, and ‘Kuweyres, Small Syria’ by Saeed Sadeqi.

This edition of Fajr Film Festival is slated to begin on January 31 and will continue for ten days.

Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival is an event that celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr International Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran and across the world every year.
